Upward Stretch

As soon as you wake up, put up your arms directly above your head. Lock your fingers together with your palms facing towards the ceiling or facing up. Then, try to tighten your spine till you start feeling a stretching sensation in your arms and rib cage. Hold this posture for 10-15 seconds,

Neck/Shoulder Stretch

This morning stretch will ease any tension that may have built up while sleeping in the night. Just sit in a meditative yoga posture. Then turn stretch muscles at the right side of your neck by turning your left ear and tilting your head toward the left for about 10-15 seconds. Repeat the same to stretch the muscles on the left side of the neck.

Reclining Spinal Twist

Spinal twist as a morning stretch relieves strain in the lower back. Firstly, lay down with your head facing up, form a 90-degree angle with your body by stretching your arms. Put your right leg over onto your left leg. Now, without moving your chest, accordingly, turn your face to the right. Hold it for 10 seconds. Gently do this morning stretch and repeat it in the opposite direction.

Lying Side Quad Stretch

Quads are one of the most overworked muscles in our body. Whilst lying on your left side, use your hand to support your head. Lift up your right leg and bend your knees just like you kick a ball in the air. Then, hold it with your right hand for about 10- 15 seconds. Turn over to your right side. Now, repeat the stretch with your left leg.

Hamstring Stretch

Legs too need morning stretch, therefore, hamstring stretch is here. Lay straight on your back and look up at the ceiling. Lift your right leg up until it forms a 90-degree angle with your body. Hold it at the back of the knee with both hands for about 10-20 seconds. Circle your ankles a few times and repeat it with your left leg.
