Blood tests which are also known as blood panels are the basic tools of a physician. With the advancement in technology, there is a wide range of options to choose from when it comes to testing the blood.   • Abbreviations: .cmm, .fl, .g/dl,.IU/L are some of the commonly used abbreviations in the report. Know their full forms and the rate reported in the blood test. Ask the doctor about the ways in which the ratings can be brought back to the normal rate.
  • Chemistry Panel: ALT – Alanine aminotransferance looks after the liver enzyme ALT. The healthy rate of which is 8 to 37 IU/L. If your liver is working well, the score will be within the range. Anything higher than that is an indication of liver damage.
