It is a well known phase in the United States of America, which was first heard on the country’s declaration of Independence. The phrase gives a lot of emphasis on the unalienable rights which the Declaration states that it has been given by the creator and for which government are created to protect the right. The declaration was drafted by Thomas Jefferson, edited by the Committee of Five, further edited and adopted by the Committee of Whole of the Second Continental Congress on July 4,1776.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”

It is known to one of the greatest sentences ever written in the history of the United States of America.  In the context of history, it is truly a revolutionary statement:  Every human being has god given right to live, be free and to pursue their happiness.

Through the years of struggle of various freedom fighters, these slogans have been immortalized into the lives of the people of America. So much so that, every other institution in America, fairly believes in the doctrine of the statement. It is free from various kinds of gender, social, economic and racial injustices in the nation itself.

Origin of these words

The origin of the statement is from Athens and Rome and various other Western democratic experiments.  The vision of it came from the Holy Bible.

Creator:  It was the holy Bible which gave the founders their general consensus of Judeo-Christain monotheism.

Life:  The bible taught them the sacredness of human life.

Liberty:  The Bible has imbibed the idea of liberty which runs through the whole of redemptive history.

Pursuit of Happiness:  The Bible’s core idea lies in the fact that it is ultimately the man’s journey of life to find joy.

The United States of America remains highly indebted to its founding forefathers and freedom fighters to instill the core human values on individuals and countrymen. The country opens each and every community on earth with its open arms and provide them with a livelihood, place to live and provides them the opportunity to make America their home.

In our attempt in life of finding peace, happiness, liberty and pursuit of happiness – these immortal words help us remain unbiased to people and accept them with benevolence.
