Therefore, if one doesn’t take proper measures to protect the heart, it can be very difficult for the person to stay healthy in the long run. Here are some of the tips that you can undertake to protect the heart:

  • Quit Smoking: Smoking is known to be one of the major causes of developing the risk of a heart disease.  If you give up on smoking, after a year or so, the risk of dying from a heart disease will be reduced.
  • Improvement in daily diet: A good diet which includes fruits, vegetables, cereals,seeds and nuts will help improve the condition of your heart.
  • Regular Exercise:  Stress free exercise techniques like yoga, jogging, walking for 30 minutes can considerably reduce the risk of exercise by 1/3rd.  Walking reduces the risk of anxiety and stress prevailing inside the mind. It also helps stabilize the mind which thereby reduces the risk of heart attack.
  • Eat Oily Fish: You can try eating the oily fish twice a week. Fish such as sardines,mackerel,fresh tuna, salmon are excellent sources of omega fats, which serves as a good protection against the development of a heart disease.
  • Read the food label: When you are shopping for the food items, make it a point to look at the food labels and see what does the product contain. Understanding of the ingredients involved in the products will help you decide the right kind of product.
  • Cut down on fatty food items: Small changes made in the diet can serve positive health benefits.  Select semi-skimmed over fat milk, grill food items than the fried ones. Restrict yourself from eating fat food items in social gatherings, restaurants and at home. Learn to be a man of self-restrain.
  • Manage your weight: Fat people have higher chances of suffering from heart disease. While in some cases, overweight body is inherited from the family members which takes time to work upon, others must lead a proper life and maintain their body posture to cut down on the accumulation of fats stored in the body.  Stick to a well balanced diet, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, combined with lots of physical activity like running, jogging, exercising, cleaning the house or involving yourself on other demanding physical exercises which results in producing an organized life.
